Jess Prendergrast is co-founder of the Onion Collective, a community business building an arts centre on a quayside and a mushroom biomanufacturing plant in an derelict paper mill in Watchet, West Somerset.

Erika Rushton co-founded the Beautiful Ideas Company in North Liverpool in 2014. By charging football fans £10 to park their cars on a derelict bit of land on match nights, the Beautiful Ideas Company raised £300,000, got the government to match it, and invested the money in 28 place-based ventures. Those ventures now have a collective turnover in excess of £3 million, employing 150 people in over 200,000 sq ft of formerly empty warehouse space.

Christine Spriggs is the Labour cabinet member for culture, creative and visitor economy for Wirral. She is working with Make Hamilton, a community interest company transforming a vacant building in Wirral into a community garden, arts and cultural centre.

Bindie Wood is an activist, specialist therapist and NHS worker based in London.

Ingrid Knowles is part of the Regal Project in Oswestry, Shropshire, which is transforming a cinema and a warehouse in the town centre that has been empty for decades into a place for education and entertainment. 

Jess Steele is a founder director of White Rock Neighbourhood Ventures, a partnership between the Heart of Hastings Community Land Trust and two other social enterprises, that is acquiring buildings around the White Rock area of Hastings, East Sussex, and transforming them into community spaces.

Paulette Singer is a co-founder of Clitterhouse Farm Project was founded in early 2013 by local residents to save historic farm buildings on Cricklewood Farm in Barnet, North London. 

Sian Lockwood is the chief executive of Community Catalysts, a community interest company working with local authorities to enable local people to use their gifts, imagination and skills in social care and health enterprise.

Sally-Anne Watkiss is treasurer of Homebaked, a community-run bakery opposite the Liverpool football stadium in Anfield.

Wendy Hart is the co-founder of Nudge Community Builders, a community benefit society in Plymouth that owns, creates and runs activity in disused, underused or unusual urban spaces to lead to lasting positive change.

Sam Kammerling is research and learning lead at Likewise, a charity and social enterprise in Swiss Cottage, London. Likewise is rethinking social care, focussing on the importance of relationships, mutual and continual learning, and belonging. It also runs a community space for local people.

Jane Cotton is from Settle in the North Yorkshire borders. She is a trustee of Settle Victoria Hall, a community space that brings the arts and culture to this isolated ritual community.

Victoria Simmons is head of engagement at NHS Bradford and Craven in Yorkshire, where she has been working with grassroots organisations on the coronavirus response across the whole district.

Iain Chambers is community projects manager at The Bevy, an award-winning community pub in Moulsecoomb, in East Sussex, owned by local shareholders, and the director of the Brighton Food Factory, a ready meals service in East Sussex that has been delivering fruit and veg locally during coronavirus.

Nickala Torkington is the founder of Flourish Together,  a social enterprise in Greater Manchester which support women to create the change they see needed through peer learning, crowdsourcing, mentoring and investment.
